Úbeda and Baeza not only have created important personalities who have marked our history, but also nowadays both cities continue being witness of the birth of all kinds artists: singers, writers, painters, sculptors, actors, film directors and so on.

Plastic Arts

Association of Professionals on the Visual Arts of Úbeda and Baeza. This association is created with the objective of giving a unique voice and representation capacity to all these artistic or creative people that work as professionals in the different technique and creative disciplines (graphic design, audio-visual production, interior design, industrial design, photography, etc.) More information on www.proartesvisuales.com.

Enrique Campayo Olea (Úbeda, 1982). He holds a Bachelor in fine arts from the University of Granada, complementing his education with a Master in artistic production in the Polytechnic University of Valencia. It also holds workshops with Chantal Maillard, Mira Bernabeu, Javier Pérez, Mateo maté, and Santiago Ydáñez. 

His work is part of several collections of contemporary art, among which those of the University of Granada, Fundación Unicaja, Francisco Carvajal Foundation, the Fivad collection, the city of Granada and the Foundation box Rural Jaen are.

Juan Jesús Dueñas (Úbeda, 1979). Son of the painter Pepe Dueñas, forming as technician of engraving and printing techniques at the school of Arts and crafts in Granada, later graduating in fine arts at the University of that city. is the In 2007 he obtained the 'Calvino' of the project of the Commission European scholarship, made in the workshop of engraving of the Academy of Humanities and Economics in Lodz (Poland). Currently resides in Granada, working on his own engraving workshop: graphic works 'Original image'.

Its production moves between the abstract and the figurative. Especially relevant is his work as a recorder, which uses various techniques: etching and aquatint, collagraph, using non-toxic products, experimental lithographs on polyester plates, etc. Recently won the prize in the contest of art graphic for young creators national Chalcography, with the 'Storm II' work, adding to a long list of awards and honorable mentions.

Also he held his work in the field of painting (watercolour, temple, oil) and has carried out work of restoration. Exceptionally it has worked in the field of sculpture.

He has stated on numerous occasions, both in our country and abroad (Italy, Lithuania or Poland) and his work is in various public and private collections, among them might quote the art collection of the Granada farm box and the collection of contemporary art of the University of Granada, as well as in the municipalities of Ubeda and Granada.

Cristina Lucas (Úbeda, 1973). He studied chemistry and history before discovering his true vocation, taking his degree in fine arts at the Complutense University of Madrid, the city where he lives, but he also spent stays in Paris and Amsterdam.

En its inception focused on action, with happenings and performance art, but soon abandoned this medium and begins to use video, photography and drawing as forms of expression. In the 'Get started' space he showed several videos. One of them appeared herself destroying with a mallet 'Moses' Miguel Ángel, with aesthetic content and also Simbolicoen his works performs a power from the cultural point of view and gender research. Performs a critique of human beings from the consideration that is the Summit of evolution, and for his attempt to dominate nature. Cristina the main work is not the technique, but the concept, the reflection. The humor also appears in many of his works.

Cristina Lucas works in this direction depart from deep reflection and historical, not only artistic knowledge. Also includes a strong pedagogical sense, which no moralist. Manuel Garrido (Baeza, 1963). Painter. Since he was a child, he shows a special passion for the drawing and the oil painting. His work highlights for capturing on it the like of living, of fighting… in spite of the disagreements, with an impressionist style based on colour stains and a big range of colours.

The originality, his strength and his colour are, without any doubt, the identifying marks of this artist. In addition, he usually captures scenes of manners such as local or exotic landscapes. Moreover, on his work, the reliefs, the windows and grilles have a special importance such as the powerful light. He also has some works of figures and portraits.

Marcelo Góngora Ramos (Úbeda, 1940-2014). Painter, sculptor and religious images' maker, but also writer, singer and actor. He studied at the Escuela de Artes Aplicadas y Oficios Artísticos in Úbeda (School of Applied Arts and Artistic Trades). in 1952, he started working at the Francisco Palma Burgos' workshop where he collaborate with him in several works: altarpieces, floats, stone, clay and wood sculptures. There, he would learn all the techniques of gilding, sculpture and polychromy.

His professional career has been marked, especially, by the painting and the sculpture. His paintings are focused on landscapes, old-looking interiors and portraits. He is not a shining painter and his work is made with shadows and dark colour scheme, where people are mysteries without a presence. In almost always big dimensions linens, he reflects the soul pain, the unhappiness of an absent heart, the mean things and the fatuous pleasure of a restless world. Here, the elaboration of some big size paintings for the Collegiate Church of Saint Mary of the Royal FortressesBautismo de Jesús y tríptico de San Antonio de Padua (Baptism of Jesus and triptych of Saint Anthony of Padua). Related to the sculpture, most of his work is focused on the religious images and some of them can be pointed out as the sculpture of Saint Michael placed on the façade of the church which has the same name, but also the sculpture of Saint John of the Cross with life-size for the façade of the oratory of the convent of the Discalced Carmelite and other sculpture of Saint John of the Cross for the main façade of the museum at the same convent in Úbeda. He also made a float for the brotherhood of Our Lady of Sorrows of Úbeda (Nuestra Señora de las Angustias), which represents the Descent of Christ. In addition, Góngora is singer, writer and he has participated in a television advertisement.

Still forming at this same University with the Master in artistic production. In 2009 he obtained a scholarship to be part of the VIII promotion of young artists Foundation Gala. In addition, also granted him 'iniciativa' of the Ministry of culture of the Andalusian Prize for young Andalusian artists. He currently resides in Ghent (Belgium).

He has stated on numerous occasions, earning several awards. His work is part of the forefront more pronounced, being mainly a painter of large works, and very first drawings of faces with a very personal use of colour. The figure is its main object of representation along with the landscape, which reflected with great realism, although colors used them for expressive and symbolic, through a very bold stroke.

Miguel Ángel Tornero (Baeza, 1978).  Graduated in Fine Arts by the University of Granada, his professional career has been directed to the photography world. Despite his youth, he was the winner of the prestigious Premio ABC (2003), he received the Grant Casa de Velázqued in Madrid (2004) and he won the first prize of photography "Purificación García" (2007).

He exhibited his works in cities as Sevilla, Valencia, Barcelona, Sãu Paulo, París, Milan, London, Mexico, Miami or Madrid and he is considered one of the young Spanish renowned photographer. His photography highlights due to the discovery of places thought as familiarly known.

Pacho Sánchez Concha (Baeza, 1965). Painter, illustrator and sculptor, he is an artist devoted to going deep into the research of artistic materials and techniques. Between his works, we will find the Ángel Danzante, Tardes de Paz and Pintura de caballete of the Cathedral of Baeza.


Rosa Valera. Flamenco dancer, she was born in Sevilla and from Úbeda by adoption, she has nowadays the Guinness Record of zapateado because she is the person who  has given the highest number of possible touches during a minute of zapateado, concretely 1.274. This recognition has given her the opportunity of recording an advertisement of an important brand of bottled mineral water.

Apart from the Guinness Record, his professional career has been marked for many success, alone and being a part of different companies as the one of Esencias Flamencas, the Ballet of Angelita Romero, the Compañía de Mariquilla and, nowadays, the Compañía of Vicente Fernández. She has performed in Spain, but also in some foreign countries as France, Portugal, Ecuador, United States, Taiwan, Hungary, Tunisia and Germany, among others, countries in which she has been seen performing live. Also, she works as a teacher because she gives different dance courses and she has an Academia de Estudios Flamencos (Academy of Flamenco Studies) in Úbeda.


Carlos Ceacero (Úbeda, 1978). Director, scriptwriter and actor. Even if his professional career is short, it is riddled of success. Relating to his education, he is Graduated in Audio-visual Communication by the University Complutense of Madrid and Graduated in Scripts by the ECAM (School of Cinematography and Audio-visual of the Community of Madrid).

Up to now, he has written and directed the short films En el fondo (2001), Cerrojos (2004), El hoyo (2006), Retrato de mujer blanca con navaja (2008), Todos los trenes van a París (2010) and the documentary Una inmensa prisión (2005). All of them have received several recognitions. He has also participated as actor in television series such as Periodistas, Policías or Cuéntame cómo pasó. He has write the script of the fiction series untitled Jugador, currently put up on sale.

Among the awards he has received, the prize Georges Wildenstein can be pointed out, given each year by the Academy of Fine Arts of France. He won this prize after being at the artistic section of the House of Velázquez, a prestigious French residence for artists and investigators, where he spent two years developing the script of his first full-length film. In addition, he received the first prize of the short stories contest Manolo Villalba, organized by Caja Canarias, thanks to Todos los trenes van a París.

Pedro Miguel Martínez (Úbeda, 1949). He is one of the most famous actors in the national scene because he has participated in many theatre pieces and in different television series working even in cinema. He has been formed in performance at the Laboratory TEI in Madrid between 1972 and 1977.

He has worked in classical pieces of theatre as Macbeth and El sueño de una noche de verano, Danza macabra and El concierto de San Ovidio, La Gatomaquia, El hijo pródigo, La cisma de Inglaterra or La vida es sueño; he also has played in zarzuela (Spanish light opera): La montería, La del manojo de rosa, La viejecita and Bohemios. In addition, he has been stage manager of pieces as El galán fantasma, Una jornada particular, La importancia de llamarse Ernesto and Las mujeres del fraile. 

Regarding the television, he has played in series like La casa de los líos, Esencia de poder, Lobos, Paco y Veva, Aquí no hay quien viva, 700 Euros, MIR, La señora and Las chicas de oro. As cinema works, he has worked with directors as Juan Antonio Bardem, Vicente Aranda, Montxo Armendáriz, Alejandro Amenábar, David Trueba, among others.


Juan Cruz Cruz (Baeza, 1940). Doctor of Philosophy and Arts (Humanities) by the University of Navarra. Most part of his professional career is linked to the research of the contemporary philosophical movements, especially these with anthropological orientation.

Since 1975, he works as Main Teacher of History of the Philosophy at the University of Navarra. He has been also in charge of the Review "Anuario Filosófico" (Philosophical Directory) and he has been the Director of the Department of Philosophy (1996-2002) and Director of the Collection of Medieval and Renaissance Thought. In addition, he is a member of the Academia Navarra de Gastronomía (Gastronomy Academy of Navarra).


Ramón Molina Navarrete (Úbeda, 1951). Teacher, but first of all, writer. Ramón Molina Navarrete is a Christian inspiration artist because a large part of his work is focused on the figure of Saint Jean of the Cross and of Jesus Christ.

He is well known as poet and playwright, among his works a collection of poems can be pointed out untitled El Silbo de los Aires and his epic Retablo de la Pasión. Moreover, he is the director of a theatre group in Úbeda called Maranatha, which has performed some plays as Maranatha that represents the Passion and Death of Christ; Natividad, birth of Jesus and Resurrexit, resurrection of Christ.

Salvador Compán (Úbeda, 1949). Writer known for being a shortlisted at the Premio Planeta in 2000 thanks of  Cuaderno de viaje. Graduated in Romanesque Philosophy by the University of Granada, he is nowadays teacher of Language and Literature at a high school of Sevilla.

His literature highlights thanks of his auto reflective aspect and it can be catalogued as historical and social denunciation novel. Moreover, the critics stand out his capacity to manage all kind registers such as the melodramatic plots, the historicist narration and the reflective intimism.

Apart from Cuaderno de viaje, he has also written El Guadalquivir no llega hasta el mar (1990), which won the Premio Ciudad de Jaén, Madrugada: crónica de espejos (1995), Premio Gabriel and Galán, y Un trozo de Jardín (1999), Premio Ciudad de Badajoz and Premio Andalucía de la Crítica. It is important to point out the novel Tras la mirada (2003), the essay Jaén, la frontera insomne (2007), the stories book Cuídate de los poemas de amor (2007) and the novel Palabras insensatas que tú comprenderás (2012) as well.


Moisés Nieto (Úbeda, 1984). Fashion designer. His profession and work appear from the wide education in the artistic sphere. His beginnings were focused on the furniture and advertisement designs, but the textile design finally won his heart. Due to that, he studied Costume and pattern designing (Indumentaria y Patronaje) and a Degree in Fashion at the IED Madrid.

He has worked with some of the biggest designers as Klaver van Engelen, Antonio Alvarado and Bimba y Lola.

In spite of his short professional career, he has won important prizes such as the contest Una Novia de Impresión (2008), organized by Canon España and Lorenzo Caprile, he was shortlisted in 2009 of Triumph Internacional Awards, he won the Premio L’oreal 2012 and also the prestigious contest directed by Franca Sozzani, My own show, organized by the European Institute of Design.

In 2010, he presented his collection for the first time in a catwalk, South 36.32N. Additionally, he participated in El Ego de Cibeles Madrid Fashion Week with the collection Bautismo and, on the other side, he travelled to Milán to present Raíz, where he is commissioned by the Valentino Group. He has presented his collections also in international catwalks as the Pasarela Internacional por la Paz in Mexico or Museum Fashion Week in Portugal.

Bullfighting Business

Juan Antonio Millán Herrador “Carnicerito de Úbeda” (Úbeda, 1978). His passion for the bullfighting world came to him as a legacy. His first debut took place in Baeza, with horses, in 1996. The following year, he participated in the bullring of Las Ventas (Madrid) with El Cid and Juan Salvador. After that, he fought in a total of 10 novilladas (training fights) and he cut 37 ears and 5 tails (both prices at the bullfights). He became a fully qualified bullfighter (tomar la alternativa) in 1998 at the Coso de San Nicasio in Úbeda with the presence of Paco Delgado and José Tomás.

During his professional career he has received prizes in different occasions as the prestigious Trofeo Lagartijo for the best faena (set of passes with the cape) at the Feria, given by the City Council of Úbeda every year in commemoration of the matador Rafael Molina "Lagartijo".


A La Calle.Rock group formed by Javier Lombardo Ruiz, on guitar and vocals; Juan Antonio Montáñez Pérez, on drums; and Jonathan Pérez Sánchez, on bass and vocals, his first long album of eponymous title, edited by the RockCd REcords label, recognize influences of AC/DC, silversmith and you, Extremoduro, Zztops and Burning, among others. 

They have been finalists of the 6grupos6, in the Edition held in 2011, in Jerez de la Frontera (Cadiz), where he managed the award of best staging.

Autómatas. In spite of his short career, the band Autómatas has published three EP's and three LP's, which have several differences: Centesimal received a prize from the prestigious magazine “Acordes” as the best disc of the month and, with the LP Algunos secretos te declaran , this band was selected as one of the best ten groups in the contest of “Backstage” of Vodafone. They also have participated in the compact disc Tanto Talento vol.2 under the sponsorship of the Journal El País, reason why they played at the Sala Moby Dick in Madrid; in the Argentinian compilation disc No quiero escuchar tu ruido and in the tribute disc to Mikel Erentxun with the song A un minuto de ti. Thanks to this new album, Autómatas performed with bands as Los Planetas, Lori Meyers or Muchachito Bombo Infierno.

Their last work, El día que todo tenga sentido, is a disc where the best eighties British rock is reflected and the care of the lyrics and the sober, sweet and sometimes implacable sound that characterize them can be highlighted.

Caballito de Mar Man.  Band presenting two Arts together, music and comic. Caballito de Mar Man exerts a sort of alchemy that includes brave sounds and melodies seductive, starting with risky wrappers that tend bridges that eventually lead to more conventional formulas. Indies or mainstream, only, superheroes moke.

Its members are: JDavid Prince on drums and backing vocals, JPablo HCantero, on guitar and vocals, and Javi Barber, bass, bass-synth and backing vocals.

Carlos David Perales (Úbeda, 1979). Compositor of electro-acoustic music. This unconventional type of music has given him numerous satisfactions, the last one was participating in the Festival Musicacoustica in Beijing (China) with his work Tics, cracks, chops & other glamorous inspired in John Cage, pioneer of the aleatoric, electronic music and in the use of unconventional music instruments. Due to that, his music is characterized by being an exploration of the mixture of different timbres and an exploration of the sound quality and his manipulation through electronic systems.

Among the recognitions he has received we can point out that he won at the 'Laboratorio del Espacio' LIEM-CDMC (Madrid, 2010), the XXII Concurso de Composición Fundación Autor-CNDM (2011) (Composition Contest) or the prestigious prize 'Luigi Russolo' (2012).

Even if his education was based on singing of scales lessons and accompaniment, piano, composition and direction of an orchestra, the electro-acoustic music and the research of new sounds through the electricity were those elements which took his heart.

Daniel Campos “Danni Úbeda” (Úbeda, 1981). Singer from Úbeda who became famous thanks of the television show Operación Triunfo, which gave him the opportunity of recording his first single, Bésame (2003), that sold 200 thousand copies and obtained two platinum discs. Thanks to this success, Danni Úbeda was able to record his first album Mi ángel (2003), selling more than 60 thousand copies and obtaining a gold disc.

Even though, he travel to America, where he would start his career in the complicated musical and artistic world. In 2005, the album Mi ángel is edited and in 2007, in Ecuador, Danni replaces an important presenter in a television show. At the same time, he participates in a film from Ecuador. In 2008, a new disc is published in Ecuador and Perú, but only one of his singles has been listened, No me queda vida.

Francisco Cayola Molina “Paco Santacruz” (Úbeda, 1929). Singer and actor. His stage-name comes from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spanish island where he lived. He started his professional career since he was really young. When he was ten years old, he performed with the Chavalillos of España, when he was thirteen, he made his debut in cinema with little roles in the films Pequeñeces, La maja del capote, Audiencia pública, and a long list after them. Moreover, he has worked with big figures as María Félix, Mary Delgado, Lina Yedros, Blanca de Silos, Carlos Larrañaga or Richart Burtom. Nevertheless, when he was seventeen, he focused on the singing and he performed for the first time in one night club in Madrid. At the same time, he would work with the artist Carmen Amaya all around the world. But the songs will take his heart, especially the Andalusia style. His style is characterized for being really personal and he is one of the few singers who barely use a microphone on his performances.

Without any doubt, his stay at the United States would be a milestone on his career since he contacted the famous people of this period as Sofía Loren, Gina Lollobrígida, Elvis Presley y Telly Sabalas.

Among the innumerable prizes he has received, some of them can be pointed out as La Giralda de Plata from the Círculo de Labradores of Sevilla (1964), the Copa de Plata from the Festival of UNICEF (Palma de Mallorca, 1967), the Caracola de Oro from the radio and television of Portugal (1973), Medalla de Oro to the best singer (Úbeda, 1973) and Úbeda inhabitant 1974, Medalla de Plata to the best Spanish singer (Valladolid, 1977), among others.

Nowadays, he is devoted to the Virgin of the Sorrow (Virgen de la Amargura) belonging to the Brotherhood of the Christ of the Fall from Úbeda (Cristo de la Caída).

Guadalupe Plata. Music band from Úbeda that plays a toxic and injurious blues that reminds to dark nights and voodoo ceremonies, everything mixed with a lot of alcohol. Its members are Pedro de Dios to the guitar and the voice, Jimena to the drums and Paco Luis Martos to the bass guitar who attract the public attention, more assiduous each time. They are quite peculiar for using a washtub instead of a bass guitar.

Their first debut album was published in 2008 with the title 10”. Thanks to this album they received different prizes as the one from the Lagarto Rock in 2009 and the other from the Circuito Joven Pop-Rock of Andalusia. They also made a successful tour at the United States.

Jerónimo Maesso (Úbeda, 1958). Pianist and compositor. He worked for 10 years for the Víctor Ullate Ballet and eight years for the National Spanish Company of Dance under the direction of Nacho Duato. In addition, he has been compositor and interpreter of different types of music, from academic music to jazz, and he has composed and interpreted some pieces for the cinema, television, radio, advertising, symphonic music, shows, chamber music and ballet. Some works highlight as the piece Arraigo to Víctor Ullate, Bestiario to Óscar Aráiz and Mediterrania with Nacho Duato, and also the show Flamenco!!! from the choreographer Ricardo Franco and the score of Sangre for the Nuevo Ballet Español (New Spanish Ballet).

Maesso also gives practical conferences about the extemporization in which he uses the piano to create music pieces ‘in situ’ with loose notes, randomly chosen by different members of the public. In this way, he has presented during the last years a concert-show untitled El arte de la improvisación (The art of the extemporization).

Moreover, he has created the concept of "Polimúsica" (Polymusic), which consists in superimposing up to three music forms from different styles, chronologies and textures. During the last years, he has participated as pianist in the television show Fama, ¡a bailar!, during the ballet lessons of Víctor Ullate and in those of Ángel Corella.

Los Tsunamis. Instrumental surf band originally from Ubeda. Their music is a mixture of the instrumental rock´n´roll of the 50, surf of the first 60, passing through subgenres such as the western, space surf or surf terror.

Mardita Passió. Ubetense Group Rock & Roll named after some songs of Latin rock describing crimes of passion finding the great discovery of "Damn passion" and to give a more native touch, adapted as Cursed Passió, although in his music there is neither one Andalusian inspiration.

After its dissolution, are currently offering small concerts in collaboration with other music groups.

María Zahara Gordillo Campos “Zahara” (Úbeda, 1983). Singer-songwriter who is opening her own path into the music world. The fact that she was the voice for the soundtrack of the cycle race of Spain in 2009 was a boost to her professional career.

Educated at the Music Conservatory of Úbeda and Musical Teaching by the University of Almería and Granada, she started singing when she was really young since she composed her first song when she was 12 years old, Una palabra. She has been composing and performing since 1999 in different places all around Spain, but it wouldn't be until 2009 when she made her debut in a professional way. This year, her first ablum was published, La fabulosa historia de…, produced by Carlos Jean and Ricky Falkner for the record company Universal Music Spain. During the first week of the disc release, it was on the number 23 of the top sales list in Spain and her single Merezco was chosen as the official song for the cycle race to Spain (Vuelta ciclista a España).

In 2010, she collaborates with a caring song sponsored by Carlos Jean, Ay Haití, and the tribute album to a Antonio Vega, El alpinista de los sueños, and in the song Lucha de gigantes whit the band Love of Lesbian.

The following year, Zahara produced her new disc and recorded the film La mujer América based on one of her songs. Her last work is untitled La Pareja Tóxica, in which she narrates the bad and good things that all kinds relationships have.

Pachi García “Alis”. Singer, compositor and producer from Baeza who has already enjoyed the keys of the success, despite his short career because he was nominated to the prizes Goya in 2012 for his song Debajo del Limón, in the cathegory of best original song belonging to the film of Paula Ortiz, De tu ventana a la mía.

For now, he has four published works: Alis (2006), Mínimo (2008), Cuando el sol nos dé calambre (2009) and Material de disección (2011). This last work has received really good critics and, in addition, one of its songs was placed in between the 25 best songs of the year according to the list created by “El País de las tentaciones”.

It is important to know that there are several important artists who have worked with him on these discs as Suso Saiz, Lori Meyers, Fon Román (Piratas), Leiva (Pereza) or Juan Aguirre (Amaral). And Eloy Azorín, Yolanda Aristegui, Cristina Peña or Javier Tolosa have appeared on his video clips.

Regarding his composition facet, he has composed songs for films and documentaries, and projects of Pedro Reyes or Arturo Vals, among others. As sound technician, songwriter and producer, he has worked with a long list of some of the most important national artists such as Rosario Flores, Ana Torroja or Pastora Soler.

Paco Ortega (Úbeda, 1957). Singer, compositor, editor and specialist producer in pop and flamenco. He studied librarianship (Biblioteconomía) at the University Carlos III in Getafe (Madrid) and, in 1974, he recorded his first album La vida tiene solución for the record company Dial Discos S.A. For the same record company he would record Abolición and the single Una canción de amor.

The fame arrived in the nineties with the duet Paco Ortega and Isabel Montero. He also has performed alone. Among his discs, some of them highlight: La vida tiene Solución, Primera Antología de cantautores andaluces (First antology of andalusian singer-songwriters), Paco Ortega e Isabel Montero, Contracorriente, Sígueme and Entre dos aguas. He has interpreted the soundtrack of the film Atraco a las tres y media (nominated to the prizes Goya), Cleopatra of Eduardo Mignona, Sobreviviré and Vida y color.

Regarding his compositor facet, he has written numerous songs for artists as Camarón de la Isla, Paco de Lucía, Diego el Cigala, Clara Montes, Manzanita, Joaquín Sabina, Niña Pastori, Estrella Morente, Mónica Molina, Los del Río, Los Chichos, Paloma San Basilio, Massiel, Lolita, etc.

As a producer, he has directed some of the discs published by Niña Pastori, Diego el Cigala and Nuria Fergó, among others. Nowadays, he is one of the stockholder of the recording studio Musigrama and he has a record company named El pescador de Estrellas. He is also the manager of the production company Dulcimer Songs and co-founder of Flamenco 2000.

Supersubmarina. Band of independent rock formed by José Chino, Jaime, Pope and Juanca. This band became famous thanks of the record company Sony Music that published in 2010 their first compact disc. They started to play music together in 2005. Their name, Supersubmarina, is the consequence of introducing an arrangement which sounded like the ocean sound.

Their first EP, Cientocero, was published in 2008 and it has songs with lyrics that reflect the daily problems and the personal relationships. After this one, in 2009, they published the EP Supersubmarina. This same year, they participated with  Estopa, El canto del loco or Conchita on the disco Juntos por el Sáhara where they play the song Chas! y aparezco a tu lado.

Their first disc was published in 2010 with the title Electroviral, receiving a huge success. They were compared with famous bands as Pereza, Vetusta Morla, Russian Red, Iván Ferreiro or Marlango. The following year, the album Realimentación was published, and after this one, Santacruz with the single En mis venas, becoming the number one on sales in itunes.

Among the awards they have received, the nomination as revelation author thanks of the song XXI at the prizes of the Music given by the Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias de la Música (Academy of the Arts and Sciences of the Music) and the National Prize (Premio Nacional) “Cuchara de Palo 2011″.
